Coordination: doing two things at once

Why an exercise can feel hard even when nothing about it is heavy.

LearnFoundational4 min read

What it is

Coordination is the organising of timing between parts of the body. Opposite arm and leg, breath against movement, one side different from the other.

Why we practise it

Difficulty is not always about strength. Naming coordination as its own skill removes a lot of unnecessary self-criticism.

What to notice

  • Whether the difficulty is effort or confusion.
  • If one direction is easier.

Try this

Practise the hard pattern slowly, three times only, then leave it. Come back tomorrow.
